ABOUT US

Around 10 years ago, we had friends host board game nights and weekends. These events were a way to experience new games, play favorites, meet new people, and share a passion. Over time, the events and our social group grew.  We now have one weekend per season dedicated to get as many of our friends together to play tabletop games and see each other. Some of our gatherings get upwards of 30 people. Some travelling from across the states.

In January of 2019 we came up with the idea that we could donate at our events throughout the year and use the funds to purchase games for children who may not have the opportunity to play games like we do. Within a few weeks we had a goal and our name. Throughout 2019 we received donations and support. Late October 2019 we took our funds and purchased a generous number of games and delivered them to Shriner’s Hospital in Minneapolis. A few more donations came in and we used them to purchase games for Sanford Children’s hospital in Bismarck.

2020 was a difficult year for everyone. Even so, we managed to raise more funds than we did the year before and purchased an incredible amount of games, toys, and therapeutic items for the Sanford Children's Hospital and Therapy Center.

We continue to try to expand our reach to potential donors and recipients. There are good ideas in the works to have events with the gaming community!

Before the creation of Games on the Table, one of our dear friends, John Anderson, lost his battle with leukemia. We founded our organization and donate our games in his memory. John Anderson was incredible at games, and even better at being a friend. We hope to bring the same joy and friendship to many others.
